Botanical Garden in GC

Hello all,

I tried this question on the GC thread, but no response. How is the botanical garden? We are going on our first Carnival cruise in about a month and I think it would be cool. I was wondering if anyone has ever gone there. How large is it? Just basic information and may be a place to see a picture would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. I am going to try the Chamber of Commerce and see if they have anything there. Take Care!

I also would like to know this. We were in GC last year a few months after the devastating hurricane that struck there. (There have been so many since then I have forgotten the name) We had planned to rent a car and take a tour of the island, because it was the first time we had been there and wanted to get an overview. Well, there were so many locals renting cars because theirs were totaled in the hurricane that there were no rentals for tourists. From what I could see at that time, most of the trees had been stripped of their leaves (fronds in this case). When you looked at the island, it looked like a brown North American forest in winter! I wonder also how the Botanical Garden fared.

We went to the Botanical Park in August of 2004, 2 weeks before that hurricane hit. We wouldnt go again, but that is just us. There wasn't a whole lot in bloom that time of year and the mosquitos nearly ate us alive! It was bad. Yes there is a lot of walking! It was pretty but not worth it in my opinion.
