Watermanfunari Posted December 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Hi, I would like your honest opinion. I will be staying in Miami in Feb. 06 and I really like the Intercontinenal Hotel, but it is not available. ( I know it is a very expencive Hotel but I love it). So, I do have two options as of today. Holiday Inn or Courtyard Marriott. Holiday Inn is across the St. from Bayside and Courtyard is 3 blocks away, just like Intercontinental. I need to know what you all think of which is a better Hotel. As you can tell I am picky. So if anyone has been to one or both of them, then let me know what your thoughts are. Pros or Cons of both. Does either have a nice pool? Resturant? Thanks in advance.
TrentS Posted December 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Of those 2 the downtown Courtyard is a nicer hotel. The Holiday Inn is in the better location, and is extremely popular (due to it's low price and excellent location directly across the street from Bayside). The Holiday Inn is a bit on the old side, but to most people it's fine for a night (if you're picky though you may not agree). The Courtyard was an older hotel that was gutted, remodeled, and turned into a Courtyard about 3 years ago. Actually the Courtyard is about 3 blocks west of the Intercontinental, making it considerably farther from Bayside than the Intercontinental (and for safety reasons it's best to take a taxi to Bayside from the Courtyard). Neither one are even remotely as nice as the Intercontinental however - They're both of the "budget" variety and if you're "picky" you probably aren't going to be very happy with either one! If you want something of the same caliber of the Intercontinental try the JW Marriott. It's actually nicer IMO than the Intercontinental, and has excellent rates at times, particularly if you're a AAA member...
