Carnival is one of the few lines that recognizes changes in loyalty levels on the cruise you achieve it. If you look at your boarding pass or other paperwork (you can log into your Carnival account and fake printing off your paperwork at any time), you should see that your new loyalty level is listed.

When you say last day do you mean debark day? If so then you might not be awarded. Cruises are actually counted by nights. If your 25th day is say on a Saturday and you get off on Sunday, then yes, you will be gold from day one. If your 25th day is the Sunday not likely in my experience.

I have 17 days and this is an 8 day cruise.
