Can someone please explain to me what this match play is? I will be getting the cheers program on my cruise and would love to max my money in the casino. Please note I do not know a ton about the casino except for slots and I would like to try new things. How does this match play work what do I do exactly?

Match play was discontinued a couple years ago.

it used to be a great program especially with cheers. if you purchased one of the classic cocktails you could take the receipt to the casino cage and get a $5 casino match play. i used to have stacks of them and used them on every cruise. they did not expire and were not specific to a certain carnival cruise ship. as cmukid87 states the program was discontinued years ago.

but to answer your question how you would use them. you would put it with your bet. so playing black jack for example you would put a $5 chip on top of the $5 match play and essentially be playing for $10. if you win the dealer would pay you the $10 winnings and then take your $5 match play card. this would leave you $15 total. $5 original bet and $10 winnings.

They explained it well. I would easily win $100+ using the matchplay. Definitely helped decrease the pain from the Cheers! Cost.
