Port Tampa Terminal 6 parking question

Our Rhapsody cruise is leaving from Terminal 6 in December. From looking at google there might be self parking right outside the terminal. Am I right in thinking its the big tarmac'd area right to the west of the terminal. All the other terminals only have valet parking and then its the Channelside garage.

It looks like you can park there on the day and then its locked up for the duration of the cruise till the ship returns 7 days later.

 

Just wondering if Im right in my thinking about the parking there.
