Island Princess - Caribe/Dolphin Decks - which cabins?

Once Upon A Time

Recommended Posts

In looking at Caribe Deck and Dolphin Decks we are wondering if someone can give us advice on cabin placement. We have one couple wanting a balcony cabin and two wanting mini-suites. I hear that Dolphin Deck balconies are totally open to other decks and that we don't want anything too far forward on the ship. Since we will be on board for 15 days, this time, cabin placement may become important. Anyone who has had a truly great or really bad location.... we want to hear about it!! Thanks for any input.

We were in D-606 on Coral, sister to Island Princess, and were happy with cabin and its location. Very nice ships, those two.

As an aside, we thought the minis on Sun Princess nicer than those on Coral Princess, but liked the Coral ship better than the Sun. The minis on the Sun class are almost the equivalent of full suites on other Princess ships.

The balcony itself is bigger on Coral/Island than Sun.

Ed and Jim: Was your balcony totally open to everyone above? I know it was uncomfortable on the Sapphire for friends of ours with balcony cabins on Dolphin Deck, but don't know if the same applies to the Island Princess. Maybe there are parts that are covered or at least partially covered. Any comments.
