Does Length Matter?

I think it is a little less dressy, but still formal by cruise terms, beacause it is still dressier than a dark suit, which is acceptable for formal on most lines.

Are we talking like the celebs wear on TV with their tuxes?

 

I think both can be nice, depends on the man in my opinion. I don't know if one is considered more formal, I do know that some places want the bow tie. When I had to wear formal for Mardi Gras Crewe balls in New Orleans, only a white bow tie was acceptable at the Crewe I belonged to. Actually it was white tie/tails and white gloves mandatory.

 

All the men looked like penguins, it was cute.
