amoore Posted April 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2004 We will be sailing on the Diamond Princess 4/24 - 5/1 and will be in PV on 4/27. We are trying to decide between several of the excursions and wondered if anyone has any advice. --Jungle Canopy Adventure (either through Princess or Los Veranos). The main concern here is that Abbie is afraid of heights. From other posts it seems that Los Veranos is the better option than the Princess package. --Hideaway at Las Caletas (through Princess). Other posts seem to rave about this excursion, and this is the one we're probably leaning toward. --Sierra Madre Nature Expedition (through Princess). This sounds really neat to us; has anyone taken it? The pre-reservation screen on the Princess website shows that all 20 slots are still available; is there a chance we'd be the only ones on the tour, or do excursions always fill up? --Sierra Madre Hiking Expedition (through Princess). This also sounds neat, especially swimming in volcanic hot springs. This bases out from Rancho Sierra Madre, though, which is listed as a working cattle ranch. Does anyone know if this place would be likely to offend an animal-rights sensitive person (neither of us eat meat or poultry and are dead-set against factory farming)? Any advice or opininons anyone can give would be most appreciated! Abbie and Stephen Honeymooning on Diamond Princess, 4/24 - 5/
soprano Posted April 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2004 This may be too late, since the excursion tends to book-up early, but we just sailed on the Diamond Princess 4/10-17 and did the Las Caletas excursion. WE LOVED IT! Just a perfect excursion top to bottom. Beautiful beach, lush surroundings, clean, great staff, wonderful lunch, yummy margaritas and lime-aid. The only thing we didn't care for was the loud music on the boat to and from Las Caletas, which made the boat ride much less enjoyable than it might have been. The music was so loud as to be uncomfortable. Enjoy your cruise!
