For those who just returned from Gem..

We are going on Gem in a week and have an elderly relative traveling with us.

Can you tell me which dining room was open for lunch at embarkation? I'd like to know in advance to avoid an unnecessary walking for a person with limited mobility.

Thanks a lot.

It is usually the main dining room.

As to last week - it means nothing. Things can change. You should never take such information and make an assumption.

When you board, the folks will know which one (which is almost always the main one). Warning - they will attempt to funnel you to the buffet. That is just what they do.

Just an fyi. The entrance to the main dining room is down a set of stairs, then there's another staircase into the dining room area. The elevators right outside the dining room will go down one deck (at least one car will for sure). There is a wheelchair entrance from this level. Someone not in a wheelchair will need to check in with the hostess to get a table. Enjoy!
