casinostreer Posted January 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) I'm sure others will post responses a little more specific to CCL. My experience is only on RCL - but many cruise ships operate in the same way. Have your friend contact the dining room manager and alert them to their dietary needs. Either the dining room attendant, head waiter or even a chef might come out during dinner and go over the options for the following night. I will tell you that there will probably be MANY vegetarian options, however true vegan options tend to harder to come by. I'm sure that your friend will be able to find things to eat (as there is always a salad bar) but there won't be a wide variety. And - as a chef - they MIGHT make substitutions for the Chef's Table dinner - but I wouldn't. The menu is usually set and contains a wide variety of meats, stocks, and non-vegan ingredients. Who knows - nothing ventured, nothing gained. Edited January 2, 2018 by casinostreer Additional info

SadieN Posted January 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2018 Your can ask your friend to discuss with the Maitre ‘d or Headwaiter on embarkation day her dietary requirements. Sent from my iPhone using Forums They’re usually available from 1-1:30 Do a thread search, many vegan threads pop up. Think I even saw a link for a Carnival vegan page on the site-that-cannot-be-named.

FloridaAdGuy Posted January 2, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2018 Vegan for over a dozen years and have been on six Carnival cruises during that time. As mentioned, call Carnival and have them indicate your dietary needs on your account. Also, definitely talk to the whoever is at your MDR the first afternoon you're on board. Next, do your research as things you'd think are vegan (rice, sauces, veggie burgers, sauteed mushrooms) may or may not be. Finally, feel free to bring (in the original sealed packaging) vegan cheese, butter, or mayo to enhance your food choices.
