HopSingh Posted December 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2005 We will be arriving in San Juan around 3:00 PM on Three King's Day, 1/6/06. What kinds of things are going on? Are there parades?festivals? We wanted to eat at the Parrot Club, but have heard here on the boards that they will be closed on Three King's Day. We will be staying at the Caribe Hilton, but if there are parades or festivals in San Juan, we would love to take a taxi in to town. This will be our first time in Puerto Rico. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what there is to do in the San Juan area on Three King's Day? Thanks for your suggestions!! We're really excited about travelling to Puerto Rico!!:D
ajilimojil Posted December 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2005 The following was posted on the San Juan message board at AOL. It was posted by a very helpful member who is very well versed in all things Puerto Rico. Quote: <<Breaking news! The party where the Three Kings give toys to children will take place outside of Old San Juan. It usually was in La Fortaleza, which is the governor's house and later at the El Morro fort grounds. This year will be at the Muñoz Rivera Park. That includes a public beach and a track for jogging and exercising. It is across the street from Normandie and Caribe Hilton hotels, so the warning is no longer for hotels in Old San Juan but for the two above. The event will be on Friday, January 6 until Sunday, January 8. Expect the largest crowd on Friday, and your kids can get a free toy as well. They give away several thousands of toys and never ever any kid went back home without one. The park is en route to Old San Juan along the sea but there are two other routes to get in, so police will divert traffic for people who want to avoid the crowd.>>
