Honduras Earthquake

Does anyone know anything about the earthquake that just happened in Honduras? Will it effect the Getaway?

It was 20 miles below the surface. They’re predicting less than 3 ft of surge. Don’t think any of the ships will even notice.

So I'm imagining that the current itinerary is identical to next week'ss, where the Getaway was in Honduras today and Belize tomorrow.

 

The earthquake was in the evening; the boat likely was already back out to sea, and shouldn't have been affected too much from tremors.

 

There is a possible chance for tsunami waves up to ~1 m (~3.3 ft) in that area would affect the beaches/coastline, but shouldn't affect the islands and coast too much.

 

However, this is still speculation.

My sister is on the Carnival Magic. They were in Belize yesterday and headed to Roatan when the earthquake hit. There was no effect on the ship at all.

My wife and I have been concerned about the earth Quake also. My son is on The Independance OTS in Labadee Hati today, leaving to go Jamaica. Seems like nothing to worry about. I hope.

The mini tsunami was reported to be 0.3 to 1 meter high (40 inches). I believe it's already passed areas like Jamaica. There was no damage.
