Hey Everyone,

I just checked out the personaliser today and we now have a cabin.

Empress E29.

I have a question,

Has anyone sailed forward of the first bank of elevators on the sun?

Whats it like? I remeber on the sky that the show lounge and casino which were both forward were subject to alot of pitching. Im wonderig if the cabins forward of the first bank of elevators will have the same issue.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Cheers,

Dan

I have heard being forward on the ship you get an early wake up call (like 6 am) when they drop anchor on port days... apart from that and a bit of pitching sounds ok. Sure beats being back near the engine (vibration issues).

cheers

yeah i have been midships and aft. (im getting all nautical!! )

and we found we had a lot of vibration in the aft cabin, but none in the midships cabin (both on the sky).

I am a little concerned about the pitching being forward....

I dont really want a 6am wak up call.. (i may just be getting to bed!!)

I must admit I don't really care where the cabin is as long as it is on the ship. I can sleep just about anywhere! I am usually so tired when I finally fall into bed on a cruise that it doesn't take me long to fall asleep. Getting up in the morning is often a struggle because the cabins are so lovely and dark. I'm glad that I travel with "oldies" in the group (I mean that in an affectionate way guys) who are up early and can wake me up (which they do, every morning!). You know what they say about the older you get the less sleep you need!!! Will be interesting to see what a difference having an outstide cabin will make this cruise!

I'm starting to get excited now. Only 20 more sleeps!! I just have to get over Christmas and a really busy time at work first. Looks like I may have to go online and answer a few work questions when I first get on board as well. Whoever thought that putting the internet cafe on board was a good idea I would like to throttle! At least before I could honestly say I am out of contact, deal with it yourself! Oh well this is what happens when you take a promotion and have to recruit for 2 other positions on top of the one you leave!

Cheers,

Chaz:)

I was on E33 on my recent cruise on the sun. It was pretty good, close to everything. The day we had the 9 mt swell, there was lots of movement but I guess it was like that everywhere. I only ever heard the wnchor once and that was because I was trying to hear it. I was usually up and didnt hear it. Sometimes there was vibrations and my bed used to vibrate a lot, but it was ok, you could still sleep. Alos the wardrobe door in our room opens and closes shut by itself (sliding) with the movement we had to put a bag there to stop it.

Hi Dan,

I was on the sun from oct 19 - 29 and our cabin was E4 we could hear sometimes hear the shows from in the cabin but it wasn't to bad. We also had a bit of a rough first night and we definately felt the movement more than the back of the ship but once you got used to it, it was okay.
