Kayaking in Akaroa

Trying to decide between two tours - Kayaking with Akaroa Kayak Safaris around the harbor - either the crater cruiser or harbor highlights tour, or the Pohatu Penguin marine reserve kayak tour.

 

Both are only in the afternoon, the Akaroa Kayak is more money ( $130pp) but longer time on the water. The Pohatu ( $90) one has a scenic "drive" to the reserve. We will be there in March which I think is a time when there are less penguins.

 

Hoping to see wildlife on either tour - dolphins, seals, penguins. If you have done either tour would love to hear about your experience, thanks!
