Recommended Posts

Help - can anyone recommend a good hotel to stay at in Miami - we ordinarily leave from Fort Lauderdale - however on this cruise we will be leavig from Miami --- I am not too familiar with that area - and am looking for a decent - clean hotel to stay at for the night before our cruise - I am not looking for the Ritz - but for sure do not want any place that we will have to check for fleas and bedbugs lol --- any suggestions will be appreciated

I was very pleased with this one and am booked there again for next September. Closest to the piers and right across the street from the famous Bayside Marketplace where there are lots of shops and restaurants.

Click on the different places including the Holiday Inn sign to see what they offer. Join their priority club and get a discount right away.

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown and it was fine... 113 a night. It was within walking distance to a nice beach/outdoor mall area that was perfect to hang out in the night before the cruise. It was just across the bridge from Miami Beach. The hotel was nothing special at all, but the people were friendly and the rooms were fine. Well worth the price to me when I looked at prices all around the area being over 200 per night.

We statyed at the Radisson Downtown Miami- short trip from airport yet close to cruise port. We got our rooms for $75/night on Priceline. Our room was o.k. Our friends' room was a corner room with walls of windows looking out the port. My friend got a great picture of the Voyager and Navigator docked "nose to nose".

We are planning on staying at the Sheraton Miami Mart Hotel in Miami. (Although that is beacuse I worked for Sheraton and booked this while employed at the employee rate.) I just checked and the night I will be there (Jan 13th) is selling starting at $159/night on the starwood website. (AAA and AARP get 10-15% off as well). Its about a 15 or 20 min cab ride from where the ship is docked.

Might be hard to find a hotel with electricity in the year 1006. :) But seriously, we are staying at the Double Tree for $133 a night at Biscayne Bay near the port. Great deal through RCCL directly.
