Thanks Trent we did book the valutrip for before the cruise last night, how long does it take to get notified that they accept?

Thought there might be a dif place to stay after the cruise since we don't need to stay near the port after the cruise.

I believe Valuetrips will get back to you in 2-3 days. Those are all relatively close to the port and airport, are you going to have a car or will you be relying on taxis? There are a lot of other places to stay, but the cost to get to them and get to the airport can get pricey if you need to take cabs everywhere.

These are also nice places on Hollywood Beach and aren't too bad of a drive, the Marriott is the closest...

Westin Diplomat... http://www.diplomatresort.com/

The Semiole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is about 15-20 minutes west of FLL and Port Everglades and would be a wonderful place to stay with a spectacular pool and many nice restaurants... http://www.seminolehardrockhollywood.com/

We are staying 2 days (flying on Fri cruise leaves Sun) pre cruise and 1 day post cruise. Any thing suggested to do while there that isn't too expensive?

A must do is the Water Taxi, not only will it get you from point A to point B they'll point out all the interesting sites along the way. http://www.watertaxi.com/FortLauderdale/FLLHome.Asp

The King Tut exhibit is in town http://www.kingtut.org/

If you have a car, the Everglades airboat rides are lots of fun. Shopping at Sawgrass Mills is a great way to kill a day. Best bet though would to hang on the beach and work on your tan. ;)

Trent -

We have stayed at the Marriott Marina(through Priceline) before and walked to the small shopping plaza north of the Marriott. I am trying to picture where the Exended Stay America, Amerisuites, Embassy Suites are in relationship to the Marriott. There will be 5 adults and to save costs would like to have 1 room.

Any preference of the above hotels.

I think you mean you walked WEST from the Marina Marriott, there's water to the north and east, and the port is to the south. There are a number of shopping areas, restaurants, etc. to the west.

Extended Stay America is across the street and a couple of blocks west of the Marina Marriott. Embassy Suites is another block west, and AmeriSuites is across the street west and behind Embassy Suites.

For 5 in one room I think you'll have to go with Embassy Suites. I'm not sure if the others will allow that or not, but I know Embassy Suites will. AmeriSuites is fine for a night if you're on a tight budget and can get it at Valuetrips or another discount site, but otherwise Extended Stay America is a much nicer budget hotel. Embassy Suites is of course a full service hotel and a very nice place to stay, but generally much more expensive than the other two.
