San Juan & St. Maarten Equinox Ports

Yes, I was on the EQ Feb 3-10, we stopped in San Juan, St Maartin and St Kitts.

San Juan looked fine to me, but I only walked around the old town. Didnt see any damage at all.

St Maartin however, looked pretty bad still. You could see they were getting supplies and getting things fixed, but it was not good. I feel bad for those who were seeing it for the first time b/c they'd have no idea just how lovely it was....

St Kitts hadnt been touched by any storm since 1989 they told us, it was perfect.

We only took a walk around old Town San Juan. We were late getting in to port and really hadn’t made other plans anyway.

 

SXM was functioning but there is still a lot of damage and mess. We spent the afternoon at Maho Beach. Restaurants and bars were hit or miss. A few were opened but still had major damage. Lots of patched up homes, abandoned boats, cars, etc. It’s a sad sight to see. It will take them years to rebound completely.
