MSC’s New York itineraries are shaping up

22/12/2005

MSC Cruises will likely kick off its year-round deployment from New York with positioning cruises from Florida to Montreal then Montreal to New York in April 2007, the company’s USA president and ceo, Rick Sasso, told Seatrade Insider.

The Lirica-class ship – likely MSC Opera, Sasso said -- will then begin 11-day Caribbean programs from New York. The itinerary is still being finalized, but Sasso hopes to include Cayo Levantado, the emerging out island in the Dominican Republic. Cayo Levando earned rave reviews from passengers during MSC’s maiden call last week [see separate story].

MSC’s New York-based ship will also provide seven-day Bermuda cruises in 2007. ‘And sprinkled in there might also be Canada,’ Sasso said. ‘That’s the broad stroke. It will be a few weeks before we pin it all down.’
