MoniMommy Posted February 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2018 When you cancel a guest and the room no longer has the max number of guests carnival has the right to move you to a comparable cabin. (Ex 3 people in a room for 4). I am wondering if anyone has experience and knows when the reassignment happens. Does it happen when you call to cancel a guest or does it happen sometime later? I realize that it also may not happen at all. This is referring to cancelations before final payment using a refundable deposit rate.
lukydog Posted February 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2018 We just had to do this last week. Had a scenic ocean view (the ones with the floor to ceiling glass at the front of the ship) booked for 4 people and 2 people decided not to go. Our travel agent called carnival, got the 2 canceled out and luckily there was 1 scenic ocean view cabin for 2 and it was open! Got the 2 other passengers booked into that room. I had one of those rooms. On a cold cruise, like to Canda, I prefer this to a balcony! If the 2 person scenic ocean view had not been available I wonder would you have had to move to a regular balcony or ocean view?
