Uber Question

I have an account with Uber and would like to know how to get an estimate. Can someone please instruct me?

In the app, set your start and end locations. It will then show you the different ride options and the quoted cost for riding at that time. Swipe left to see additional options, like premium rides.

If you want to schedule a ride at a future time, click on the clock icon in the bottom right of the screen to select a future date/time. The quotes will then update for you.

As long as you don’t press “confirm”, you can use this for estimating purposes. If you press “confirm”, then your request will be sent out and a car/driver assigned.

We have have 5 adults and one child going from Homewood Suites Blue Lagoon in Miami to the port. Is Uber our best bet? What size do we need?

You will need an Uber XL (or 2 Uber X’s) to fit everyone. Assuming that you were traveling on a Saturday morning, the ride would cost about $38. Other days or times might be more or less. c6963be8cba040f6df23e17f257a6837.jpg

If you are traveling with a child, does the child need a car seat? Most Uber’s won’t have one on hand (though, some might for an extra fee), so you may want to bring your own or look into other options (like a shuttle) that either provides child seats or where they are not required.

hi!

You can actually prebook the ride, which is likely the best bet.

How to do that:

What size do i need?

My advice with 6 people is that since you will have luggage you could get away with an uber xl for 4 and an uber x for 2

6 plus bags will not fit into an UberXL -- they are usually minivans that seat 7 with one spot for the driver and limited luggage room behind the third seat. You might squeeze into two UberX cars, as long as no one in your group packs like my wife  but the above suggestion of an XL and an X makes more sense.

i forgot to mention that uber gift cards go on sale at some retailers sometimes. if you can catch a sale on a gift card and know how much to buy, you can save up to 20% that way.

A related question - we’ll be going from a hotel in FLL to POM on Sunday morning. Do we need the address of the port or do we just put in POM? And how do we know exactly which terminal to go to? We’ll be sailing on Celebrity Eclipse.

You can generally put in POM into Uber, as all of the ships should be accessible from the same drive and there is plenty of signage indicating which ship is where once you get to the port. If you want to enter a specific terminal, check this link out the morning of your cruise and search for your ship name:
