LinVirginia Posted February 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2018 My husband has health issues that do not permit him to walk far without resting. We are on the only ship in port this day and I am wondering about the distance he would have to cover both to taxis and town. We have been on over 20 cruises but this is one of the first with his limited mobility and our first time to Bonaire. We are trying to decide about whether a rollator would be an asset and appreciate your expertise on specific distances. Also, are rickshaws, trolleys, etc., available to assist folks from gangplank to taxis for tips or a charge? Thank you for your help.
rockinnrobyn Posted February 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Do you know what day you'll be on Bonaire? I'll be able to help you more if I have additional information. Thanks.

rockinnrobyn Posted February 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2018 It looks like you'll be on the South Pier. The taxis are located right off the pier. He would walk about 25 yards to the street. I would recommend a rollator and then you can be sure he'll make it easily. That will also allow you to move around town - the distance from the ship is not too far but would be difficult for him to walk on foot. There are no trolleys that go through the main part of town and shopping. There is a trolley for a tour but that is something different.
