Mom and 8 year old girl...suggestions?

My 8 year old daughter will be in Progreso mid-March. She doesn’t seem to have much interest in the ruins or cenotes. Any suggestions on other activities that may interest her would be appreciated!!

WE will be there in March also. We will be on the Carnival Triumph and they offered a beach day with food (only for Carnival cruisers) that looked really nice. We are traveling with two of our grandchildren (ages 6 and 12). We booked this tour. I don't feel it is very safe to go into town on your own. Really not a lot to do in Progreso. We have been there without kids and went into the town, but we wouldn't take the kids in there.

Shooshoo, we too will be on the Triumph (leaving 3/17). We decided on an all-inclusive beach excursion as well.
