Jewellery Shopping....Western Side

We are going on the Valor in January and DW is looking for a pink saphire ring....what is the best port for price and quality? GC, Belize, Roaton and Costa Maya are the choices.

Grand Cayman is expensive! Roatan and Belize didn't have too much.......And I haven't been to Costa Maya......The ship usually has some pretty jewelry at decent prices. St. Maarten and St. Thomas are the BEST for shopping.....but are on the Eastern route.

I agree, that Grand Cayman is very expensive. I usually save my jewlery shopping for the eastern route. Although this last trip I spent little time shopping, the prices were comparable to home (with a good sale). search for $ per carat wt. I usually can find some new and nice settings in the caribbean, that's why I choose to buy there. If you've got time shop a bit in the local mall and look at settings too. The stone cuts can increase prices as well.
