kathy9 Posted December 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2005 Long Beach or San Pedro. The pier that Celebrity uses is in San Pedro but Long Beach seems to have a nicer places to stay. There is a message board for hotels, alot of info there. We are staying at the Coast Hotel in Long Beach for our upcoming Summit cruise.
Petert Posted December 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2005 Hi Queen, As Kathy mentioned above, Carnival cruise lines operates out of the port of Long Beach. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and others operate from San Pedro, which is about 5 miles west of Long Beach. The city of San Pedro is adjacent to the World Cruise Center, and there are several hotels within a few minutes of the cruise terminal. Some of these hotels have cruise packages that provide shuttle service to /from the terminal, and parking if your are driving. There is a San Pedro site where you can get information about the city and nearby facilities. In the city, near the channel is the Ports of Call Village that has a nautical museum, restraunts, harbor cruises etc. and will provide a view from the village that you will be sailing past the next day. The Carnival terminal in Long Beach is located about a hundred yards from the Queen Mary's permanent berth. The terminal is just a short way from the city of Long Beach, where there is a wide selection of hotel options. For additioal information you can search this thread.
