Help - Spent too much on Christmas

We are on the Mariner on 1/2/06. Originally, we were planning on doing the ship tour and just go to the beach - Well I managed to spend too much on Christmas and need to look for more economical excursion options.

What area of the beach would be the best to go to on our own and not cost a fortune. We are a family of 8, 4 teenagers and 4 adults (includes grandparents.)

We are going to meet the fire chief first thing in the morning for a tour of the fire department and then we will be on our own for the rest of the day - figured we would go back to the ship to eat, so I would not want to be too far out of the way - once back to the ship, we would probably just enjoy the relative peace and quiet on the ship.

Thanks for your help.
