Glitch1928 Posted March 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Hi, Going on my first Carnival cruise and I'll be solo. Will I get double VFIP points? It seems I would, but I haven't been able to find the answer to that question on the Carnival site. Thanks!
Flip2cruise Posted March 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2018 No double points with Carnival
near the beach Posted March 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2018 You only get points for days at sea. Not how much you spend.
firemanbobswife Posted March 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Nope. Us solo cruisers only get single points. Maybe someday they will change it like other lines such as Celebrity.
Flip2cruise Posted March 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2018 It is nice on Royal and Princess to get double points.
TrqoisWtrs Posted March 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2018 No, nada, nothing, zippo, and yes, it sucks. But I keep doing it. ;p
winddawn Posted March 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Carnival single occupancy passengers pay twice as much but do not get twice as many points.
Glitch1928 Posted March 16, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Thanks for all the responses! Just wish they had been different. [emoji57][emoji23] Oh well, doubling 3 nights wasn’t going to help much. Sent from my iPad using Forums
idraconis Posted March 16, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 16, 2018 About solo cruising on Carnival. You pay for the cabin, if the cabin is a $1000 and there are two passengers it $500 each. One person it's a grand. Some day they may offer single cabins on Carnival, I doubt it. I still keep doing it.
Pops, Esq. Posted March 16, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Carnival single occupancy passengers pay twice as much but do not get twice as many points. Suite passengers pay more, too. Should they get more points? Sent from my iPad using Forums
Glitch1928 Posted March 16, 2018 Author #11 Share Posted March 16, 2018 The single supplement is similar on most lines. Some give double point for suites, no matter how many are in the cabin. I love solo travel, though, so I pay. [emoji57] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Flip2cruise Posted March 16, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Suite passengers pay more, too. Should they get more points? Sent from my iPad using Forums On Royal suite guests do indeed get double points and solo pax triple points. Carnival has just chosen not to follow some of the other lines perks. airlink diva Posted March 16, 2018 #13 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Suite passengers pay more, too. Should they get more points? Sent from my iPad using Forums It's just the point if one decide to sail alone, that great rate you see on sales is not what you are going to get. If a sailing is showing $300 for outside cabin, I have to pay $150 more at 150%. The logic that two people in cabin spend more isn't always true either. Princess is under Carnival corp and give double points, reasonable to offer it to solo cruisers
Retired_to_Cruise Posted March 16, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 16, 2018 On Royal suite guests do indeed get double points and solo pax triple points. Carnival has just chosen not to follow some of the other lines perks. OR, some of the other cruise lines have chosen not to follow Carnival's perks. Cruise Day Points are what Carnival gives you. They are defined as a cruise day point for every day you have sailed on a paid cruise. It is at the individual level not at a dollar level. Loyalty levels are based on Cruise Day Points.
