Will the gift shop vendors at Costa Maya Port area haggle on pricing?

We only bought a couple of things- a magnet, some coffee and some chocolate from the main chocolate shop. I attempted to haggle in the chocolate shop but it was a no-go. I thought I heard someone else do it successfully so when I questioned that the staff told me no, it's a fixed price.

Anyone recently at Costa Maya port area? If you tried negotiating on prices, the outcome?

I think it depends on what you are buying, and where. My husband was able to haggle on a backpack (his bag broke, so he needed a quickie replacement), and jewelry is always negotiable. Cariloha has everything priced as marked, as does the chocolate shop apparently.

We did not have any issues haggling with any vendor we came across at the port. Got something I wanted that was "posted" at $75 for $40. The major stores have set prices, the vendors in the middle of the port didn't.
