NanD Posted December 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2005 We are looking at Cat 04 oceanview staterooms on the Vista Deck for a March Mercury cruise. The available staterooms showing are either quite far forward, or aft on the starboard side enroute to the Fun Factory entrance. Would appreciate opinions on these locations. It appears the Bridge complex is above the forward cabins and hoping someone has experience with this location to know about possible sounds from above since it's a 24 hr operation. Also, anyone know if what might be a steady stream of youngers going to "camp" is a distraction? Thanks in advance for any input. Nan

Nan We were in cabin 9004 which was one of the very front ones (inside). Numbers 9005 and 9006 are window cabins that are slightly larger than the standard outside cabin. Didn't notice any foot traffic noise or bridge noise from above, however, we did hear what could have been either the anchor or tender chains clanking when we'd arrive in a particular port. If given the preference again, I'd definitely want to stay as far away from teh fun Factory as possible. Not only is it there, but the kiddie pool is there as well. The front end seemed to be reletively quiet. Plus you know the only people that should be down at that end of the hall are the cabin guests. Have a great time...I'm insanely jealous. NanD Posted December 30, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted December 30, 2005 Thanks, ML147000. Your thoughts pretty much mirror my initial suspicions. I'm convinced.....forward it the way to go. Nan
senior lady Posted December 31, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2005 We were on Panorama deck in #8047. It was a great cabin except when the engined slowed down or changed course there was a lot of rumbling. It was our wake up call on port days. We never heard any noise from the kids play area!!! I think i'd try to get closer to the middles next time. It's a great ship and very friendly staff. We had a great cruise to Mexico:D
