pikapaca13 Posted April 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Hi All! I recently (2.5 years ago) became permanently handicapped. I can walk short distances with a cane, but have to use my wheelchair for longer (such as walking the length of a cruise ship). I cruised out of CA last year and it was good, but this is the first time on Norwegian. I do already have my handicap cabin booked (Gem, 8th floor inside cabin near the elevators, back of ship). Since my wheelchair folds up, I've never had a problem with tenders. Does anyone have any tips for me for this ship?
Mrdell Posted April 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Enjoy your cruise! You will be fine. There are many scooters and wheel chairs on board and most people are very courteous. You may have a slight delay at the elevator in the busy times.
loveaftcabins Posted April 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2018 I have the same disability. The best decision I ever made was to rent an electric scooter. Care Vacations is one of the companies. They deliver to your cabin or you can arrange to pick it up in the check-in area. $225 or so for the week. There is also a disabilities board. Good Luck! Lovemygreekgeek Posted April 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2018 There's a really lovely couple that have been on many NCL cruises who talk sometimes about accessibility on board. https://www.instagram.com/cruisingwithwheels/ and https://www.youtube.com/cruisingwithwheels You might not find all the info you're looking for, but gosh I really like watching their videos!
