Can someone tell me how different, if any, the security procedures are getting on and off the ship in Havana?

Are your bags searched getting off the ship ? (In case we wanted to bring a gift to our tour guide... Nothing illegal. Just didn't know what we could/couldn't take)

Do you have to turn in your Cuc $$ the first night when getting back on board even though you're staying overnight and getting back off the ship the next day ?

Anything else we should know?

The security procedures are no different than when you are getting on the ship. You can keep your CUCs for souvenirs if you want.

 

It is not that much different than Miami except for being 400 years older.

I'm not sure, but I believe I remember them x-raying my bag in the terminal as we exited the ship as well as when we were re-boarding the ship. No big deal. They also look over your passport, take your picture, then stamp the passport. "Welcome to Cuba".

Havana x-ray my wife's small back pack we did have some small gifts for our guide and driver nothing said and they do take your picture and your temperature going thru customs and then thru a metal detector. Then after that have your money exchanged that is open till 8 pm

There isn't a lot consistency to what they do. In our case there was no taking of temperature and they didn't stamp the passport, we had to ask them to do so.

If they took your picture they got you temp in Havana at least

Holland said they do not want people that have high temps getting off ship . Maybe they should do that when you board for cruise .
