tiwi Posted May 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2018 I am thinking of getting the AARP gc to use on cruise cash. Can you still get money from the casino so you don't loose your cruise cash? Thanks!
Brooke71991 Posted May 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2018 Iirc, you are better off with the keeping the giftcard and just adding it to your account. Cruise cash is a use it or lose it thing.

cruizinisthebest Posted May 22, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 22, 2018 Until Carnival catches on. Catches on to what? I pull the slot a few times and then cash out. Actually the last time I did that, I won $50 on my third pull and that was good enough for me.
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted May 22, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 22, 2018 Iirc, you are better off with the keeping the giftcard and just adding it to your account. Cruise cash is a use it or lose it thing. If you aren't going to go on a Carnival cruise for awhile, you'd wan to cash out at the casino, either way. I guess it's easier to use the GC for cruise cash from home, then stand on line at guest services to do it.
jdoc2010 Posted May 22, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 22, 2018 Until Carnival catches on.Theres nothing to "catch on" to. They sell casino cash you can buy with the gift cards as well. Buying the general cruise cash will allow the funds to be used for other things than just the casino. Giskard Posted May 24, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 24, 2018 I thought I read you could take the GC to the casino and just cash them in for regular cash. Is that not right? I was going to use this as a way to save 10% and not carry a lot of cash

Or you can use them to buy cruise cash online prior to your cruise and that credit will already be on your account when you board. Either way, if you need cash from your s&s account and it's been funded with gift cards directly or cruise cash, go to the casino, set up your players account, transfer what you want to take out to your bank, play the machine a few times, then cash out. You can't take the physical gift card to the casino and ask to cash it in. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
cruizinisthebest Posted May 24, 2018 #14 Share Posted May 24, 2018 Carnival offers 3 types of cruise cash: cruise cash photo, cruise cash bar, and general cruise cash. The first two can only be used for photos or the bar The third one can be used for anything. There is no such thing as casino cruise cash. I agree that there's nothing for them to catch on to. There's not a thing wrong with cashing out at the casino so long as you play a little first. Theres nothing to "catch on" to. They sell casino cash you can buy with the gift cards as well. Buying the general cruise cash will allow the funds to be used for other things than just the casino. I was able to pay for our whole cruise with purchasing AARP gift cards....... saved me 10% then I turned around and bought GC for cruise cash. 10% is a lot when your are paying for 4 cruisers. One of our accounts did not use all the cruise cash so I went to the casino and pulled a slot and cashed out. Never had to go to customer service our whole cruise! When the kids come, there's 4 of us. I use gift cards for just about everything and never have a problem getting cash from the casino off my card. Folks are nice at guest services, but I'm happy to eliminate reasons to go there. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Crazy4Camping Posted August 20, 2018 #19 Share Posted August 20, 2018 Ok so let me see if I have this right. I can use my gift cards through AARP to purchase cruise cash that will sit in my sign and sail account, like OBC. It will be used prior to charges that go directly to my credit card linked to the S&S card. Correct?
