Orlando or Cocoa Beach

My DH and I are going on the Mariner Feb 5th and will be flying into Orlando and the 4th. Was wondering if we should stay in Orland or go to Cocoa Beach and stay pre cruise. Any suggestions on where to stay and transfer ideas would be most helpful.

On Priceline, bid for a 3 * hotel on Cocoa Beach. Rent a car from Budget or Avis who have locations on A1 at Cocoa and will shuttle you to the pier on the day of embarkation. After your cruise, purchase the ship bus transfers back to MCO. We paid $10 each and the car for one night was $25 plus tax.

Radison, Hilton, Holiday Inn etc. are good hotels. Many have been updated after the Hurricane damage of 2004.

Bon Voyage

DW and I went on Mariner in May. We flew to Orlando and then rented from Avis and drove to Cape Canaveral. We stayed at the radisson and they have a shuttle to the pier, but we used the Avis shuttle as we could rent the car in Orlando at the airport and drop it off in Cape Canaveral... that worked out very well for us... gave us a car to explore Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach and the car was only about $35

Radisson had a very nice pool area, rom was "ok", but we did not use the pool area. It is very close to the piers.

have a great time!

I am looking for a hotel for a pre cruise stay in Sept. I would like some names of hotels that you have stayed at and would stay at again. I am also looking for tranportation information as well. I have been on six cruises but I took all of them from Miami. I really like staying the night before the cruise. It just makes things more relaxing.

As I said before we stayed at the Radisson. The room was just OK.. but we did get the cheapest thing we could there. One nice thing is they will allow you to park your car there during your cruise (i think without charge) I'm not sure if you need a night before AND after the cruise to do that but I don't think so.

The pool area is VERY nice with water falls and such. You can see the port from the hotel, and it is conveniently located to Cocoa Beach, restaurants and shopping.
