pansieFL Posted May 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2018 hoping you guys may have some experience with this - I am going to be platinum on our next cruise - my son and husband are gold. I know that my benefits extend to them in terms of embarkation, etc - so no FTTF is needed there. Here is where the twist comes - we are a tender heavy itin - they are going to go do some fun things together without mom tagging along :-) so, they would be leaving on tenders without me. That would mean (if I am not mistaken), they can not take advantage of platinum priority tendering, but would need that via the FTTF option - is that correct? I booked the FTTF before I became platinum and don't want to let it go if they need it to take advantage of the priority tendering... hope that makes sense! any insight is appreciated. dmndlil Posted May 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2018 I cannot answer that but I do know we just returned from a cruise on the Miracle, we are gold, and had priority tender because of the ship excursion booked.

maryred Posted May 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2018 The person entitled to priority tendering can have up to 5 persons with them. The key is the priority holder must be WITH them on the tender. The general order for boarding the tenders with Carnival is 1) Persons on Carnival purchased excursions that are scheduled to begin soon, following instructions that came with the voucher. The early AM tours will meet as a group on board in a lounge or the MDR and will be escorted to the tender. Later tours generally need to just show their excursion voucher instead of a tender sticker #. 2) Diamonds and Platinums will either report to the GS desk or a priority lounge to be escorted down to the tender. A letter with instructions is delivered to the cabin. 3) FttF again will either report to the GS desk or a set aside lounge, and will be escorted down as long as there are seats left from the first 2 groups. A letter to the cabin will be sent. 4) after all priority passengers that are waiting are boarded they will load those with tender stickers until all seats are taken. SeaScout Posted May 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2018 You would need to be present with them for them to be able to take advantage of your Platinum status.

You are correct that they will not have access to priority tendering if you are not with your husband and son. I booked the FTTF before I became platinum and don't want to let it go if they need it to take advantage of the priority tendering... hope that makes sense! any insight is appreciated. Do they have any Carnival excursions booked? If so, they won't need priority tendering. What are they doing that requires them to debark so quickly, if I may ask? NJEMT29 Posted May 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 16, 2018 When we were on the Pride last June we had fttf and went on with the diamond and Platinum members. Their was a diamond member and his friends that was with him were gold and the lady checked everyone’s key card and she sent them to the Theater to get tender tickets wouldn’t them let them board the tender
A&Jfamily Posted May 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Just use your Platinum status to walk off early with them and reboard if you aren't doing anything in the port. There is NO WAY I would pay the absurd rates for FTTF just to get on a tender 20 minutes earlier.

We are Diamond and FTTF, Plats and Diamonds all met in the Dining room and were allowed on after the excursions. The Dining room was quite full and it was somewhat chaotic as they started the zones before all of us gould get down there.
