Mexican Pesos to CUC - Is it Possible?

Hello,

 

I am traveling to Cuba later this year and cannot seem to find the answer to this question. I've seen USD, CAD, and EURO. Does anyone know:

Can Mexican Pesos be exchanged for CUC once in Cuba (at the cruise port)?

 

Our cruise is going to Mexico after Cuba so this would be very helpful!

Seems like MXP get less CUC than CAD or EUR.

And you don't need Mexican pesos in Mexico for a port call...USD is widely accepted.

 

I've been to Mexico dozens of times on port calls and NEVER uses pesos. I only changed USD to MXP when I was there for a week....

 

I'd get CAD or Euros for Cuba and stick with USD in Mexico

Thank you very much for the reply! After looking into it, I guess EURO is the way to go to get the most CUC.
