Is 9 months too young to go on a Disney Cruise?

DH and I are expecing at the end of July. We have been talking about planning a cruise with a few couples for next Spring. Our friends all have young children, however the youngest would be 16 months EXCEPT for our baby who would only be 9 months when we cruised.

Do you think 9 months is too young to cruise on Disney..or any other crusie line for that matter??

Thanks!

Heather

Hi,

i have seen many little ones on DCL. But you must remember there are not a lot of things for a 9 month old to do. There is one of the ears of the Mickey pool that is just water spouts and it is reserved for littleones in swim diapers only where she could play with your supervision. Many parents sit on the side of the ear when they have babies in there.

Of course if she isnt scared of them, there are character meet and greets. Flounders nursery is a very good spot and they do have lots of age appriate toys in there, plus a viewing window where the kids cant see you, but you can check on them. You will be given abeeper in case they need to reach you. The draw back is the nursery is very limited to how many kids they will take at once. It is reservation only and it will cost you $6 per hour, a 2 hour minimum per visit. It is more or less first come first serve for reservations. They do limit how many reservations each oerson can do, so more people will get a chance to use the nursery. The busiest time is the evening because everyone wants to go to the clus or have a quiet dinner. Most little kids seem to do good in the show in the eveninga s there is a lot of colors, movements etc... to keep their attention., Others just fall asleep, so feel free to take her in there, but be warned ther are some loud noises sometimes too.

It will make some priceless memories for you, but also as you know, quit a bit of work too, but if you have to do diapers I would choose doing them on board ship as opposed as doing them at home. Free crib in your room if you ask, wait staff will pamper your kids at any age.

good luck,

mom x4,grandma x4
