cab at pier in Galveston??

Are there cabs waiting when you leave the ship in Galveston or do you have to call for one??

if there is, is there a long line of people waiting to get one??

we have always taken a shuttle or rented a car so I never noticed.

We have never had a problem getting a cab, they have always been plenty waiting there.

There are lots of cabs just waiting for passengers. In November we did self assist debarking and were able to walk right up to a cab, no lines.

What is the approximate cost for a cab from the Galveston pier to Houston Hobby? I'm trying to decide if we should book a towncar or take our chances on a taxi. Thanks!
