Check-in Question

It's been a quite a while since we've cruised Carnival and things have certainly changed quite a bit. I was curious about the new boarding process. When I check-in online July 23rd (when online check-in becomes available), is this when I select our boarding time? And if so, do I need to be online at midnight Eastern to get my preferred time? I can envision it being like trying to get good tickets from Ticketmaster. We missed FTTF and are bummed that there's a chance we may not be able to board as early as we like.

You don't select a boarding time, you select an arrival appt or check in time. It has been my experience that things seem to happen at 12:01AM Miami time, but I have never checked in since they went to the 90 days out way. I wouldn't expect the earliest times that you will have access to since you're not D/P/FTTF would go that fast. You won't be able to board until they clear the ship and after wedding parties, D/P/Suites/FTTF anyway so it's not imperative you get the earliest time. Usually if you wait closer to 1:00-1:30 you can get right on. You won't have access to your cabin until then anyway.

I think when you complete your documents online you can check in (at least that's what we did). You should be able to do this now (we're cruising in August and already did ours). I would suggest that you try to show up at whatever time you are slotted for. I've heard that they're getting pretty strict on making sure that you can only start checking in at the time stated on your documents.

They changed it. You can’t check in more than 90 days out now.
