Royal Caribbean Fights Back!

Those are very valid points. A D-1 certainly does not scream I have $$$ in my stateroom.

BTW, very nice picture.

Thanks about the pic.:) I really do get tired of looking at it though, which is why I took the other one down that I had. :D

(now I'm sure someone else will say they're tired of looking at it too, LOL)

Corona, I believe that on the Thursday Gretta show, one of the RCCL folks said something about a passanger(s) who called from a lower deck after the thud. They thought the ship had struck something it was so loud.....

Wish I could remember where I heard/saw that..

As to the Smith's being more or less drunk than the others....we don't know when the indidividuals started drinking, what they drank and ate, size of the person (she looks small next to DH), etc. We don't know if GS was more or less drunk than the drinking buds, they were all hammered I would think. Did the drinking buds have an inside cabin...'cause that would make falling on the floor the worse that can happen.

Can't wait for the attorneys to say that a balcony is dangerous and the cruise line should be punished for not having a warning sign on them not to stand on the railing, while drunk, and the ship is moving.

All good points. I said it before, these people who are suing the lines will eventually have an effect of the overall experience. I'd hate to see it become more restricted, or supervised.

Critterchick posted a review of her Vision cruise, and said that they checked her bags, presumably for alcohol, and that there was an alcohol check in station.....wonder if they are going to start trying this, or if it was an anomaly?

Capt Wright told Greta that he didn't know about George winning. I will get the transcript at 9AM tomorrow to post here.

Now Dateline back in Aug/Sept had the 2 gals who witnessed the drop kick of George's balls by Jen after his hussy comment. They stated that George was losing money by the thousands. He was so drunk & pissed.

They also stated that Jen left the disco got into the elevator & pushed 9 & she was it in there & that is where it stopped.

When watching your recording can you see if Greta asked about George winning money and how/what he responded. It would probably be when they toured the casino. I suspect that he said he couldn't confirm but I'm not positive.

Thanks.

so many times we have her her comment of their $10,000 suite. That is a D1, Superior verandah not even a Jr Suite let alone Presidential!

Then her being left alone on the dock with belonging & no money, no flight home, not hotel. BS! U S Consulate took her from RCCL. They flew her home on Luthansa to daddy & even got her a day room at a hotel til her night flight. She had all of George's credit cards & any money that was in the safe. Unless he has those ;-)

Ken, no offense, but if they were trying to play the "rich kids", then why were they staying in a D1? It would be obvious to me that they did not have that much money. If they did, wouldn't they have been in a GS or above? I'd think they would be. Also, murder is not typically decided on what people will have in the future either.

Remember these people they were hanging out with were on board with their parents. Now I don't think I every indicated that there was a murder, I was just going over all of the information and at this point it looks like the 4 have more to offer than what has been said.

I totally agree, I just don't get that it had anything to do with money. I really wish there was some clear-cut logic to all of this....there just isn't.

After reading all the posts, I'm just as hooked on this as everyone else is. I sure hope they solve this soon. I feel so sorry for the Smith's family. Has anyone asked JHS what she was doing from the time she showed up at the spa, at 8:30, in the same clothes (dress and sandals) from the night before, to the time her massage was scheduled at 10? Just hanging around? Wouldn't a spa employee have said, you're too early, come back later? Why would she go there 1 1/2 early, when she had plenty of time to change clothes and/or shower? Wouldn't she have used the bathroom after all that drinking the night before? Does anyone know where the bloody towel and the kleenex were found? When approached at the spa, why was one of her first comments to the Royal Caribbean employee that GS had previously spent the night somewhere else? Seems a bit defensive to me. I wonder what time she fell actually fell "asleep" in the hallway. Where did she think her husband was all that time? She appears to be too "conveniently" away at crucial times.

Oh I agree, but the only thing that would makes sense at this point is that "GS, and JHS were buying drinks for there friends" not sure were I read or heard that, plus there has been mention of him loosing alot, or winning alot. The only thing that is consistent is the time line and those involved.

They took her early. Now what I said is, if it was a couples massage, which it was, why would she not have waited for him, or at least try to find him before she went?

Keep in mind these two according to several sources were wasted out of there minds.

Or maybe there is but we are missing that piece of the puzzle. Afterall, we only have what has been publicly released, not access to everything the FBI has.

And then there is the statement by "Josh" He said he used the Smiths bathroom while the "Russian's tucked him in" however when JHS was brought into the room the statement was made that the bed looked like it had not been slept in.

I am back after watching the Panthers go on a very successful Bear hunting trip!

There were indeed 2 visits by security to the Smith's cabin. Someone questioned whether they actually answered the noise complaint - they did and it is documented. They did not enter the cabin because when they arrived, it was quiet inside and they figured that the party was over. For those who think security should have entered the room, please remember that the complaint was for party noises, not a fight or altercation. If security arrived and the party was over, they would have no reason to go in. In fact, if the partiers had gone to sleep, waking them up might just start the party again!

Hind sight is always 20/20. Now that we know that within the hour someone from that room was going overboard, it is easy to say the the cruise line should have done this or that. You have to keep in perspective what they knew at the time, which was some people were drinking an making some noise. There was not a hint of violence at that point.

Ok, I found it, according to hagelsmith.com there was blood inside the cabin, if that is the case that would indicate he may have had help.

WWe subsequently learned hat there is substantial evidence of foul play, including blood in and outside of our cabin and other significant forensic evidence pointing to criminal involvement. There is also evidence that other passengers and cruise line employees arrived at and/or entered our cabin around the time of George's death.e subsequently learned that there is substantial evidence of foul play, including blood in and outside of our cabin and other significant forensic evidence pointing to criminal involvement. Here's another point to ponder.....I don't know if this was mentioned before.

I seem to remember reading when they got off the ship they spotted Tara Reid and George became star-struck and asked to have his picture taken with her. I believe Jennifer got jealous and wanted to even the score by flirting with anyone she could find. Maybe they also had a fight about it because things went sour too fast for a honeymoon couple.

Haven't read that, but I'm sure regardless of the day if you do a poll of most men, and there is a top ten star of the opposite sex available for a photo op, most would go for it.

I wonder why the total of their Sea Pass account hasn't ben leaked to the tabloid media - THAT would make for an interesting read!

Guess that would be like a credit card statement sent out into the press, not sure how that would help solve the mystery though.

Just want to tell you all that this thread and the others are my favorite mystery reads and I love all of the theories and research that you are doing. Aside from that, we were on this cruise in October in D1 aft cabins which cost us $2500 each more than a year before sailing. Add on $2000 in airfare, two and a half days in Barcelona precruise, private drivers for our excursions, our Seapass bill, and assorted souvenirs which included a rug we bought in Turkey (which only accounted for $750 of the bill), and our vacation was way over $10,000. Not hard to do.

Thank you for the support, I agree it would not be hard to spend $10,000 for a trip like this.

After an incident at a hotel in Las Vegas last fall, I can understand why the security officers who investigated the noise complaint didn't enter the cabin when they got there and heard nothing...

I called the front desk at the Mirage when a dog in the next room was barking after midnight (and keeping me awake). They sent security up to investigate and all was quiet until they knocked on the door. Then the little doggie started yapping, but no one responded to their knocking (banging on the door actually). I opened my door to talk to the security people and they apologized for not being able to do anything. They could not enter the room and remove the animal (dogs are not allowed in rooms at that hotel) because no one had answered their very loud knocking.

Perhaps it's the same on ships. Security investigated the report of a loud party and heard nothing when they arrived. If they knocked and no one responded, they left. They entered later when JHS was found... possibly, she gave them permission to go in and see if her husband was there to help her.

Makes sense to me.

that she woke her husband up, stating that the ship just hit something. She phoned the bridge to inquire & was told they are sailing just fine & they would check the decks.

They were on the bottom level verandah, if I reember right 2 levels below the Smiths.

Amazing how all these folks way back when, are nowhere now......
