Royal Caribbean Fights Back!

I think people are losing interest in the George Smith case. Other news a has taken over. Also the release of the Smith's wedding video showing George and Jennifer alittle drunk is not helping. Maybe it is time for the family to think maybe George was drunk and fell over. They are not as perfect as the family thinks, if as some post George's mother was telling George to sober up and Jennifer was fallen over while dancing.

I'm still very interested but there really isn't anything new coming out just yet. I really wish we would hear something soon.

I think George's family is stuck in denial.

Anyone know who sold the wedding video to inside edition? Was it jen's pr guy?

That would be my guess. Especially since it was released so soon after he was hired and none of them is hollering about it being out there for public viewing. I'm sure we would have hard about it if they had a problem with it.

I missed IE today with the second part of the wedding video. Anyone know how to watch it over? I don't see a way on their website unless you want to purchase something. Can you see the video anyplace else?

Catherine Crier has something on it today, which is on right now on Court TV. Not sure what they are going to show, it's up next, but probably a small portion of what we've already seen.

So, the videographer sold it to Inside Edition, after they offered to SELL it to Jennifer for $250K, and apparently, she told them to go pound sand. So, I guess we know how much they paid for it. This is from Deborah Norville's own mouth.

The Smith's said that they regretted that the video was not kept private, but that they were ok with the way IE presented it.

Jennifer said she too was sorry, and felt that her privacy was violated, but that she was glad that people could see how happy they were.....

Corona, are you saying the DW stiffed the video maker of her wedding? Guess she figured with DH gone she did not want it...I wonder how many other suppliers to her wedding she stiffed???

Hope this ain't true...

So she wants a free cruise from RCCL, free drinks, free video of her wedding, free CD, CD player, logo wear, etc. etc. Wow.

Humm, I do like the idea of a money back guarantee on life....where do I sign up.:D

as his story is going into the closet, with other newsworthy stories rising in Jen's dust.

TIVO still tapes everyone & all were Entwhistle, Natalee is back again with Joran's parents talking but not too believable and the Aruba visitors still digging & pushing rods into the sand in the Dunes. Texas has divers in the deep waters that the fish cage may contain her & dumped there. Guess Venezulan look alike wasn't her.

I was just reading my local news website and they had something about the George Smith case. The family lawyer Brett Rivkind was question the stories told by the 4 men who took George back to his room.

One of the things he said was it was strange that they took pictures of the food. he must have been reading the posts here because a few people had said that.

Again it looks like they are trying to place blame on someone else. They just will not admitted that George and Jennifer where partially responable for what happened to George know matter what. You know they blame everyone else, the cruiseline, other passengers. They should accept the fact George and Jennifer where responable for their actions.

It is very short in case anyone wants to read it. Go to turnto10.com.

Yes, she did stiff them, but they were trying to extort more money from her too. I'm sure they didn't agree on $250K when they agreed to have them shoot that video.

They saw an opportunity to make more off of the video after George was gone, so they did it. I think that company is morally bankrupt if you ask me. It's wrong to do that in my mind. If he would have just died in a car wreck or something, they would have sold it to her for whatever they had agreeed on originally. But because this has become such a money maker for everyone, I guess they wanted their cut of it.

Now this is one business JHS should file a lawsuit against!

Just saw Rita's show. Looks like the boys are going to hang themselves!

BTW, when I travel, I never think to change the time on my camera. Does anybody make the time change or am I the only lazy one?

Attorney For Missing Man Questions Cruise Passengers' Story

Honeymooner Disappears From Cruise

POSTED: 1:43 pm EST February 7, 2006

UPDATED: 1:55 pm EST February 7, 2006

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The attorney for the family of a Connecticut honeymooner who vanished from a cruise last summer is questioning the account of a group of passengers last seen with the missing man.

Attorney Brett Rivkind emphasized he was not placing blame but said passengers have offered odd and inconsistent accounts about the hours before George Allen Smith IV of Greenwich disappeared from his Royal Caribbean cruise July 5.

Four men escorted a heavily intoxicated Smith back to his cabin, then ordered room service from their own cabin between 4 and 4:30 a.m., some of their attorneys said. Two attorneys said the group even took photos of the room service.

"It was such an incredible amount of food they wanted to capture it for a memento," C. Keith Greer, the attorney for one member of that group, Josh Askin of California, said Tuesday, describing stacks of trays containing pizzas, hamburgers, salads and cookies.

FBI agents have repeatedly questioned the passengers. Nobody has been charged and Smith's body was never recovered. Attorneys for the passengers say their clients did nothing wrong.

Rivkind said the account of putting Smith to bed was at odds with Clete Hyman, a deputy police chief from California who was in an adjacent cabin. Hyman said he heard what sounded like arguing and furniture moving, following by a thud.

"I find the factual account of the four a little bit strange and inconsistent with what Clete Hyman says," Rivkind said Monday. "We find it strange you would take photographs of room service."

Rivkind said he did not have enough information to draw a conclusion in the case. He expressed concerns that Turkish and American investigators did not immediately question all the passengers last seen with Smith.

Greer disagreed that his client's account was inconsistent with Hyman's report, saying some of the passengers were loud and that may have been perceived as fighting. Time stamps on the photos show the passengers were in their cabin around the time Hyman reported the thud, he said.

"It's another piece of evidence that shows they were not in the Smith cabin at the time he went overboard," Greer said.

Rivkind said the time stamps on cameras prove little. He said the account should be compared to key card entries to the cabin and any video footage.

The FBI has declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. The U.S. attorney's office has promised a thorough investigation.

Albert Dayan, attorney for another passenger in the group, Rostislav Kofman, said in an interview on Fox News last week that the group ordered "a ton" of room service around 4 a.m.

"We actually had provided the FBI with photographs of that room service," Dayan said, according to a transcript of the interview.

Telephone messages were left for Dayan this week and last week.

A day after Smith disappeared, Askin was eager to talk about the room service, according to Margarita Chaves, a 29-year-old teacher from Phoenix who saw the group the night Smith disappeared.

"'The room service is what saved us,' I remember him really going on about that," Chaves said recently. "We were kind of shocked he was giving us so much information."

Smith's wife, Jennifer Hagel-Smith, was found passed out on a floor far from the couple's cabin, the cruise line has said. She says she has no recollection of what happened and has said she passed an FBI polygraph test.

Greer said he does not believe Smith was the victim of foul play, saying a small amount of blood found in the cabin could have been from Smith hurting himself. A chair was pushed up against the railing on his balcony, Greer said.

"Everybody liked George," Greer said. "I think this was a terrible tragedy just caused by too much alcohol."

Talking about the room service "saving them" and the photos they took sure sounds to me like they're trying to divert attention from something...

Yupper.

Someone should tell Josh loose lips sink ships. His verbal diarrhea may just hang them.

He falls or runs into something busting his lip/nose (and you know they can bleed as much as a scalp wound).

No way could that have been a lip/nose wound! the awning had so much blood - it had to have been a hell of a beating. My! My! why do some people drink when they know they lose their minds?

It EASILY could have been a nose or lip wound. You have no idea what you're talking about. It would have bled even more since he'd been binge drinking. I ran a call on superbowl sunday where an 8 year old boy had a simple bloody nose and ruined 4 rooms worth of carpet because he never knew to pinch his nose shut. You don't apply pressure, the bleeding continues.

GS, in a plastered state, was standing on a chair trying to hang a wet bathing suit from a bolt or brace on the ceiling. He lost his balance, smacked his head on a beam creating a loud reverberating sound and went overboard, where he lay and bled on the canopy until he simply rolled off quietly.

Eh... sounds good to me. Case closed.

Watched an episode of Law and Order last night and they where washing off the blood off the sidewalk while the cops where still there. Now would this be a coverup. My guess is the Smith's would think so. They would blame everyone else but their son. No matter what happened to him they need to say they know George was partially responsable for what happened. His wife was passed out in a hallway and he was so drunk he need help back to the room. Isn't that setting yourself up to have something happen to you.
