upper versus lower decks...

Hi,

Does it really matter if you have an upper or lower deck? I am booking the Carnival Holiday, Oceanview, and trying to decide between Cat. 6A, 6B, 6C, or 6D. Also, what difference is there between a cabin in the front versus the back of the ship?

Thanks in advance!

I would go with the least expensive that you can live with. Try for the middle of the ship or the back (more stable). I've stayed in an oceanview on the riviera deck with the Holiday an it was pretty close to the water.

The only difference is the price. The higher you go the higher the price.

i will go with a aft cabin on the lower deck every time. less motion and it is cheaper than higher up. nice and quiet also unless you get right next to the disco.

Dusty: that may be true with the newer ships but I think the Holiday will feel motion on the aft. (not a lot but its there)

I will only sail aft on the bigger ships since I discovered balconies back there. But had a aft cabin inside on the Sensation and it did shake, rattle and rolled.

DH and I always take an aft cabin. We love sitting on the balcony watching the wake of the ship and the stars at night. Just beautiful. We get a suite that typically has a nice size balcony to accommodate friends wherein we can enjoy our company prior to dinner. We also prefer the aft cabin to be 2 to 3 decks below the pool deck. This way, we are not directly under the noise of the chairs at the pool deck and we are not directly above the noise of the lounge.
