We are leaving in three weeks :) I am not using water shoes. Just jumping in with barefeet and changing into sneakers. We did a similar trip in Costa Rica with lots of wet landings and this worked fine.

You're right-barefeet is fine for the water landings which are no big deal...For dry hiking good running shoes e,g. New Balance are fine...for beach walks which include lava and stoney places Tevas are perfect....Simple sneakers are good for traction when trying to leave the 24/7 bar.

CSloan - Anything that you bring with you in the Zodiac that you don't want to carry with you on the hike can be left on the beach (or the landing area if you're not landing at a beach). It's not going anywhere. Just find a rock or a bush and place your stuff there. We left water shoes, towels, snorkel gear, etc. at the landing area. There was never a problem.

My best piece of advice for this trip - don't worry about anything (Celebrity takes care of it all) and enjoy everything. It's an amazing adventure. The little things that can be annoying on other cruises like long lines and waits for tenders and for buffets, etc. just don't exist on this cruise.

The water is quite cold so you might want to rethink the aqua shoes, plus the rocks might be sharp. You could carry a packpack with your hiking shoes to change into. Wet suits are available onboard for no charge for those that want to play in the cold water. It is a fabulous trip you can't help but LOVE. Don't forget to ask the bar tender for a chocolate shake, it's his specialty.
