High tax on drinks while in Miami port (Drinks on Us)???

REMEMBER when you board in Florida you will be charged a very hefty tax on any drink you buy while in port. Nearly double the cost of a drink. It’s a Florida law and they collect a lot of revenue. Drink after you pull anchor is my advice.

Is that correct? If yes, what is the charge and will it affect you when you are on the Drinks on Us?

Yes it's correct, plan on another 8-10% sales tax on top of your 15% gratuity

What if you upgraded to the deluxe drink package where the gratuities are included? Do we have to pay the difference above the 15%?

They also charge a extra tax if you are in PR. That is on any line.

The tax is applied on all drink packages while In port.Can add up if you board early and drink often . Ship doesn't leave until 7pm.. BUt hey, your on vacation. enjoy

So, if I'm on the all inclusive package and have a few cocktails and beers before sailaway, will it be detailed on my onboard billing at the end of the cruise?

We had Aurea classic drink package and no extra tax on our bill.

Pre Bought drink packages do not incur any sales tax as an extra on your bill, any individual drinks bought by customers who do not have a package incur the sales tax and the 15%.
