Celebrity Suite

Lots of questions so little time and space. First, has anyone recently cruise on celbrity infinity that has booked a celebrity suite. I have all the information that the cruise line tells you about this cabin category but I am really looking for some information as to what I can actually/realistically expect. In particular, does this category offer perks such as prioriry when tendering. Is that even a problem? Does the computer in the room come with complementary links or is that an extra cost? How useful is the butler? I'd like to hear from folks who have actually stayed in a celebrity suite who can shed some light on just how pampered my wife and I will be on our September 5th cruise to Alaska. Also any insight as to what to expect in Alaska. Thanks in advance to anyone taking the time to reply.

We haven't stayed in a Celebrity Suite as yet, but we are booked in one on the Summit July 9th. I can let you know what we think after the cruise if that would help? Not sure when you are booking for. I chose this suite for the large windows and the spaciousness of having a living/dining room and seperate bedroom. With all of the beautiful views in alaska I can just imagine sitting in the living room with the drapes open watching the world go by! I "think" the Celebrity suite has a PC,and printer with internet access. Now there "may" be a fee for the internet use, but I'm sure you can get a daily or weekly rate much like upscale hotels. It is a bit confusing on the Celebrity web site.

Anyway, I can let you know as I said.

Thanks for your reply Sue. I will look forward to your update later this summer. My wife and I booked the Suite for pretty mush the same reasons you did. We like the creature comforts that come with the extra space and the window wall definately was a draw for us. As a side, My wife and I used to live in Orlando about a hundred years ago. Don't get back that way too much these days, too much heat, too many people, too much rain, too many bugs, although I'm not too sure our black flies and skeeters are much better. Well anyway I look forward to your update. Thanks

I just returned from the June 6 sailing of the INFINITY in a "celebrity suite". In a word, the cabin was fantastic. The decor was nice (although the artwork a little strange), furniture very comfortable and TONS of room. There were 4 floor to ceiling windows (forward facing suite...rear facing has 1 window obscured by window washing equipment) with roll-up sheer blinds in addition to more light reducing (needed when it gets dark at 11:00 pm) heavy blinds. There is a cd/tape player on the wall in the dining room. Sound from the cd player and living room tv was received from overhead mounted speakers (although they were "worn out" in my particular cabin) The butler was a great asset to the suite. He supplied us with a bowl of fruit, canapes and cookies daily. He would also regularly check in with us to see it there was anything we needed. PRIORITY tender passes were delivered to the room the evening before we docked in SITKA (the only port we tendered to) although we didnt really need them since the tenders never seemed crowded. Invitations to a VIP reception were delivered one afternoon. We really enjoyed the suite and would not hesitate to book a "celebrity suite" again. WE DID NOT MISS HAVING A BALCONY IN THE SLIGHTEST. Apon arrival in VANCOUVER, we were invited to the SS UNITED STATES restaurant to wait before being the first group escorted off the ship. One small glitch though....our luggage was the LAST to leave the ship. GREAT planning there CELEBRITY.

Hope you enjoy your cruise...in my opinion you made a great cabin choice!

Thanks DCT61. Your response provided me with all the information I needed. We Look forward to FloridaSue's update in July. My wife and I are eagerly awaiting our September Cruise. We went on the Carnival Paradise 2 years ago and had a great time. We were fortunate to have gotten upgeraded to a Cat 12 suite and vowed that a suite would be our only accomodations on any future cruise. We'll be on the Infinity in Suite 7138 to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Could I bother you to provide me with some information on the ports of call (juneau, Sitka, Ketchican). We have a Heli tour of the glacier in Junuea, a kayak tour in Ketchican and just plan to do a self tour in Sitka. Any suggestions on any of the ports?

7138 was the same suite I was in. Its the perfect room because its not so high up as to be "overly-shaded" by the overhang (not to mention being able to see the sky) and its up high enough to avoid looking right at the lifeboats.

I have a fear of flying, so was unable to do any of the helicopter tours, however, friends onboard did one of the helicopter tours and said it was spectacular. SITKA was the one port we did not do a shore excursion in. We wound up walking around looking into the shops and eventually walked down to the National park. It was beautiful. SITKA is pretty small and not a whole lot of shopping (that was ok by me). One other ship was in port...I believe it was the CARNIVAL SPIRIT. My favorite port was KETCHIKAN. There just seemed to be alot more to do that emphasized the beauty of the area.

I hope yall have a great cruise and a happy anniversary. If you have any questions about the room let me know.

It's a small world isn't it DCT61. I found it interesting to hear that you sailed in the same suite that we have booked in September. The information you provided about the suite and the ports was great. Thanks!!! My wife like to shop and I like adventure, so we planned our adventure excursions for the mornings and left the afternoons for shopping. As for myself, I'm just looking forward to the weeks break from our Chiropractic practice. I love what I do but still find that I need some time away and this cruise will be just what we need. Well thanks again for your reply. I'll most likely be posting a review of our trip when I get back so you can compare your cruise to ours.

Happy Cruising
