Names of Officers

 

Q: How do I find the names of officers onboard the ship?

A: Senior officers are listed in the Cruise Compass on Day 1

 

Safes/Safety Deposit Books

 

Q: Are there safes in the staterooms?

A: Yes, in most.

 

Q: Are there safety deposit boxes available?

A: Yes, at the Purser's/Guest Relations Desk.

 

Q: How much does a safety deposit box cost?

A: Free, unless a key is lost ($25 charge).

Q: Is there a safety drill done onboard?

A: Yes. A lifeboat safety drill, called "mustering" is done on every sailing.

 

Shore Excursions

 

Q: Where can I find information on available shore excursions?

A: On our website and the the Explorations! Desk onboard. Guests will also receive a list of available shore excursions applicable to their itinerary with their Guest Vacation Documents. Individual brochures will no longer be provided. However, these brochures will still be available to download at http://www.royalcaribbean.com

 

Q: Can shore excursions be pre-purchased?

A: Yes. At http://www.royalcaribbean.com, you can purchase shore excursions online up to 10 days prior to sailing. After this point, guests must book onboard the vessel on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Q: When can I start booking my shore excursions?

A: Once you receive your reservation ID number we suggest that you proceed to the shore excursion section of http://www.royalcaribbean.com. All available tours will be provided for your applicable sail date. If we are unable to provide you with available shore excursions at the time that you wish to purchase online, please check our website again as your sail date gets closer, or once onboard, check with the shore excursion deck.

 

Q: Are ther eany onboard talks or lectures about the places I will be visiting?

A: Yes. There is a port lecturer onboard each ship.

 

Skates

 

Q: Can I skate on deck?

A: No, but Voyager of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, and Mariner of the Seas feature an ice-skating rink and an in-line skating track.

 

Stateroom Bathroom

 

Q: How big is the bathroom?

A: Approximately 3' x 5'8", standard stateroom

 

Q: Do you supply shampoo/conditioner/soap?

A: Yes, only in suites. Regular staterooms have shampoo and soap.

 

Q: What is the height of the shower?

A: Showers are the European telephone-style, adjustable from 1.4m to 1.9m, or 6'2" max. clear height. Someone taller than 6'2" will fit in the shower but will likely have to duck to get his or her head under the running water.

 

Q: Do you provide shower stools?

A: Yes (on request).

 

Q: You you provide nonslip mats?

A: Yes (on request).

 

Stateroom, Bed

 

Q: How thick is the mattress?

A: 6" (11" on Monarch of the Seas).

 

Q: What are the measurements of the bed?

A: 78.5" x 33.5" x 6" (standard twin bed).

 

Q: What kind of mattress?

A: Foam. (Monarch of the Seas features the new Royal Caribbean Beauty Rest from Simmons).

 

Q: What kind of pillows?

A: Cotton, hypoallergenic.

 

Q: What kind of blankets?

A: Pure wool.

 

Q: What kind of sheets?

A: Cotton.

 

Q: Are there alternatives (for pillows) if necessary?

A: Yes. We have feather pillows and down pillows upon request.

 

Q: What are the pillow sizes?

A: Queen-size.

 

Q: Do you have bed boards?

A: Yes, upon request.

 

Q: Do the beds convert into queen-size?

A: Yes, except where noted on Ship Layouts.

 

Q: Can we get an extra mattress if necessary?

A: Yes.

 

Q: Are there bed rails for the upper berths?

A: Yes.

 

Q: For the upper berths, what is the height and weight limitation?

A: There in no height restriction on the Pullman berths, but the bed length is 1.98m (76"). Max weight is 300 lbs.
