i saw that someone one posted that the chat feature on the hub app is $5.00 . Does that mean that if I pay $5.00 for each of us we can text each other our location , through out the cruise?

Yes, that is correct.

True, but keep the app running or the messages may not come through in a timely manner. If you don't close the app it works pretty well.

Yes, through the Carnival Hub app - download it before you get onboard, then log in once you board - easy to set up the text option then. Before your cruise you get a countdown to your cruise... mine says 76 days.

Theoretically that is true. Several members of our family got the $5.00 chat feature on the Hub and it didn’t work very well for many, and didn’t work at all on mine. We were on the Magic in July, and there were about 20 of us.
