What to do in Miami and Nassau?

Hi everyone,

 

My family and I (there are 12 of us traveling on the Spirit's Feb 19 cruise) are not sure what excursions to go on in Miami and Nassau. We were just thinking of taking a cab to South Beach in Miami and walking around the Straw Market in Nassau.

 

Can anyone make any recommendations that you think would be great to do? We are 6 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 7-17. We do not all have to travel to the same destinations so the more suggestions that can be made the better. We are not adverse to booking excursions outside of the ones offered by NCL (which we have done many times to other destinations).

 

In Port Canaveral we are splitting up, 4 going to Sea Word and the other 8 going to Daytona. On Great Stirup Cay, we'll probably rent rafts and enjoy relaxing on the beach (hopefully the weather will cooperate).

 

We haven't registered on the roll call yet but I will definitely do that ASAP!

Other than the standard tourist traps there is the month long Bob Marley Music Festival. DW and I are in Miami four days pre-cruise and are also going up to Fort Lauderdale (half hour away) to see the King Tut Exhibit.
