Will visit St Croix oct 28

We are danish, so would like to see some historic places, but also visit Cruzan destillery and a beach if there's time. However, I understand that many shops and places are closed on sundays, so what would you recommend? Also, should we rent a car or go by taxi (We are 4 adults)?

We will be in port that same day and very interested to know the answer to your question. I checked the Cruzan website and read it they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Yet, the Celebrity Cruise Line website shows it's available as shore excursion. It can't be both. Hopefully someone can answer this question for us. FYI - Our plan is to go by taxi and then onto to the beach....

Good morning to both of you, I'm happy to help answer this.

Traditionally most of the island shuts down on Sunday so we can all take a break, however we get so few cruise ships these days that we open up everything when a ship is in port. Especially anything geared towards tourists, like the gardens and the distillery.

Please take a taxi, I don't think it's worth renting a car for one day.

Have no fear, things will be open for you.
