Casino Credits on Australian Ships

i usually pre-purchase casino credits to use in the casino. On my up coming Australian cruises when I look to purchase my casino credits they appear to only come in USD funds not Australian? I called Princess to question this the agent said that the credits will be in my stateroom waiting for me and they will be in American funds that I will cash them into Australian funds at the casino and the ship will use whatever exchange rate the ship is currently using. I’m wondering if anyone can confirm that indeed this is the practice on Australian ships cause we all know you can get varying answers from Princess agents. Also anyone recently sailed on an Australian ship and exchanged American cash into Australian cash. What was the exchange rate used? I also I’m familiar with the fact that Princess doesn’t give a very good exchange rate but Princess Australia charges 3% service charge when using a credit card so I would prefer not to charge my casino gambling to my ship card.
