Millennium Information

We are cruising on the Millie this spring so any information about the ship would be appreciated.

We booked a veranda cabin on the sky deck.

One of my questions is do they have a wine dinner package available on board?

How are the Martini's?

We are looking forward to the Platinum Club the Martini Bar on one side & the Champayne Bar on the other.

Thanks

We love the Millennium. An easy ship to navaigate, great service and good food. The Martini Bar is very nice and I am sure you will enjoy many of your favorites there throughout the cruise. Try the Olympic, their specialty restaurant. Worth the extra $$$. We have stayed on the Sky Deck twice and the location is very convenient to the buffet, one floor up. We would travel on the Millennium again in a minute. Great ship!!

Just be aware of two things on deck 9 balconies. If you are aft of midship you may experience noise from the buffet area (tables being moved in the night and early morning) and the overhang above the balconies is considerable so you'll have no direct sun if you were expecting that.

Thank you all for your input.

The cabin we booked on the sky deck is under the Gents changing room so I hope it will be quiet from up above. We have been under the buffet on a previous cruise & have heard chairs moving from time to time. Although it wasn't to annoying I am glad we are not under the buffet. We really did not have much of a choice requesting a specific veranda cabin because we booked this cruise 12/29/05 & only 2 cabins were available. We also lucked out because we requested second seating dining & we were accommandated with our request. I have called Celebrity several times to make changes & I have found them to be extremely helpful & friendly so an A+ for their customer sevice. This is our first cruise with Celebrity & we are really looking forward to this new adventure.

Thanks again & anymore information will be greatly appreciated.

We are returning to Millie in April and look forward to it. Haven't done the Martinis but everyone we have talked has raved about them. Apparently there is a martini tasting which my TA has said is a MUST DO.

We have always stayed on Sky Deck in the same cabin. We love being close to the pool deck, spa and buffet. The ship is laid out very well. We will hear the occasional noise from above but not terrible. We also don't mind the overhang and of course depending on direction and time of day you can still get some sun there.

I thought they have a wine package on Celebrity - you should be able to find it on their website - go to the bottom and look for Shop Celebrity. I could have sworn I have seen wine packages. If you want a specific wine from their selection the wine stewards are great and if you don't finish the bottle one night, they will cork it for you and serve the remainder another night for you. I highly recommend the La Crema Chardonnay (we love that they serve our favorite!)

Hi Wolfgang

I went to the shop Celebrity & could not find a wine dinner package. They do offer bon vogage packages or you can pre order wine, booze etc. I did see the Chardonnay you spoke of it does sound very good & seems to be priced well. I always trust someone's opinion over a waitor when we have not tasted a particular wine. Thanks for the heads up. We do love a good Chardonnay. As a matter of fact we do love a lot of different wines. We try to buy wine no matter where we are. I know that we will be attending the wine tasting, & looking forward to the Martini tasting as well. The first Martini tasting we ever did was on the NCL Dawn out of NY on the top deck. It had started out as a very stuffy group that turned into a singing, hugging, & picture taking group by the time we all finished. A good time was had by all! Our Martinin glasses were full to brim with each tasting(drink) they gave us.

We are cruising the M on 4/30 our first TA are you on that cruise? We are truly looking forward to cruising on this ship. Any other known facts that you can share please do so.

Thanks

We are on the 4/9 sailing. La Crema is a buttery smooth chardonnay. Since you are not Captains Club if you are interested in the specialty restaurant you need to make a reservation when you get on board. It is a lovely experience - takes about 2 hours or so but very turn of the century in feel (the last century - LOL). The goat cheese souffle and steak Diane are among the best dishes I've ever had.

Sorry about the wine package - I thought they had it. However, I bet the wine steward would do whatever you like - I do recall that we had a bottle and spread it out over 2-3 nights (I just prefer a glass at dinner - pacing myself ha ha) The second night he brought it immediately.

If you are celebrating an anniversary or birthday make sure they know. They have a cocktail party for anniversary/honeymoon and do a nice birthday cake at dinner.

You should love Millennium - it is our all time favorite.

Sorry you won't be joining us on 4/30 we always love wine sharing buddies. We never have our wine carried over to another night as we usually finish the bottle. We have tried pacing ourselves(HA) on some of our cruises but for some strange reason it seems to be gone by the end of dinner. We are receiving instant Captain Club membership because we have completed 9 RCCL cruises. As long as you are at least platinium status on RCCL you receive the equialent(select) on Celebrity. Wish we had that 10 th one under our belt. The Captain's Club rep already gave me our CC number's & told me that we should be receiving all the info in 6-8 weeks. I know that we will be trying the Chardonnay in your last post you even made it sound more delicious.

Thanks again for your input.

Oh that's great - we go back and forth between X and RCCL and are moving up a level this time too. SO you can make your reservations ahead of time if interested. And don't get the wrong idea - I only pace myself at dinner - I save the serious drinking for the casino (ha ha) but in light of current news - we are not drunken idiots, just happy vacationers!

Glad to hear that you are moving up to the next level. I am glad that finally X & RCCL did something for us frequent cruiser's. I wish more cruise line's did this like Princess, Hal etc. I am trying to convice DH for a RCCL cruise 5 dayer out of N.J. to get that 10th one. We too are happy vacationer's & enjoy our balcony with drink in hand. I try & pace myself during the day when I can. With RCCL on the carpet for the disapperance of a cruiser I am wondering if some of the drinking policies will be changing? I would love to hear from you on your return & wish you all a great cruise. If you get chance please check out 9028 & let me know your opinion.

Thanks again

BTW, you might be able to send him a FAX.

Direct faxes can also be made from shore to ship by dialing one of the following numbers:

He left the ship on Jan 21 or 22 for his home in Jamaica.

We stay in 9038 so 9028 should be a good room. We always feel like we have a great view in that area.

My wife and I have that cabin booked for the 16th of April Cruise and I was told that it is a very good one with a larger than average Verandah (the ship plan shows this as well) Seeing this is my first time on this ship anything else you can tell me about it or any pictures of it (9038) that is would be wonderful indeed. Thanks in advance.
