Need help with hotel, transfers

We just decided to take the March 4 Windstar cruise in Costa Rica, so I'm in furious planning mode and would appreciate any help.

My main concern right now is getting to the ship, which departs from Puerto Caldera. My questions are:

1. Any suggestions on the best place to find the cheapest airfare to San Jose?

2. Any hotel recommendations?

3. How do we get from San Jose to Puerto Caldera?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

We were in Costa Rica last winter without a cruise, and stayed at the San Jose Marriott. Located just a few minutes from the airport (free shuttle bus), on an old coffee plantation. Great place to stay.

We flew on Taca Airlines(local regional airline)from NY and found it the only non stop, but also the least expensive.800-535-8780

Wife and I have enjoyed our pre-cruise stay at the Hotel Grano de Oro in San Jose, a small "boutique" hotel with an outstanding restaurant. We took the ship's transfer package from San Jose to Puerto Caldera, which worked well for us.
